Arlequinn & Indey McCall
This Means War & Millie Daveys
The tall, finely tuned thoroughbreds walked side by side down the centre of the track. Both at the moment were showing excellent prospect to be Oak Hill Farm's next big dirt runners. Arley, a sprinter and Ans, a horse who was specially bred to be a Tripple Crown runner! There was a buzz around Ans' broken maiden last week and also both placed a respectable second in their Unicorn Horn Series races. Ans needed to get all the practice in he could for his up and coming race in the Y11 Spring Cup and Arley, well he was still young and any practice at all should make a difference. After all we were all hoping he could be one of my best horses, especially Indey, his current jockey.

Arley stepped swifty down the track. He tossed his head side to side, up and down, anxiously waiting to run! He began jogging on the spot, slightly edging forwards at the same time, keeping up with Ans. As he became more and more excited he lept forwards, really swinging his head. Indey held him back, waiting for Ans and Millie. As they caught up Indey allowed Arley to move forwards into a trot. He lept up and jumped into his pace. His long legs moved him gracefully and quickly across the dirt surface. Arley was always a good ride and although he was very excitable he was also very responsive and obedient towards his jockey. We covered the ground quickly, slightly ahead of Ans.

Ans made his way calmly, yet briskly, down the track next to a very excited Arley. Ans eyed him up every now and then but allowed Arley to stay ahead slightly. Ans was more mature, and very mature for his age. He was obedient and knew how to act respectably on the track. Millie saw Indey holding Arley back and suggested it was time for a trot. Ans moved forwards into a nice flowing trot. He held his head in nicely and looked great as well as covering the ground in no time at all.
